Strausser worked primarily with the offensive tackles while Sean Kugler worked with the interior offensive line. Klis credited the development of left tackle Garrett Bolles to Strausser. One of the concerns Cleveland had letting go of offensive line coach Bob Wylie was his work with left tackle Greg Robinson. Robinson developed into a solid option at the left tackle position this season. It is important that Cleveland solidifies the left tackle position to protect quarterback Baker Mayfield’s blind side.
“He was originally hired by Denver as assistant offensive line coach on Feb. 22, 2017, following 28 seasons in the college coaching ranks…One of just five rookies in franchise history to start every game at left tackle, Bolles was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.”

Here is what his bio reads:
Before joining the Broncos, Strausser coached the offensive line at the collegiate level for 19 seasons. During his three years as associate head coach/offensive line for the University of Washington from 2014-16, three of Strausser’s offensive linemen were named first-or second-team all-league selections. In 2016, the Huskies won the Pacific-12 Conference Championship and advanced to the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Before joining Washington’s staff along with Head Coach Chris Petersen in 2014, Strauser coached at Boise State under Peterson for seven seasons (2007-13).
He served as offensive line coach and run game coordinator for Boise State from 2010-13, adding the responsibilities as associate head coach in 2013. During that time, Boise State surrendered just 36 sacks (0.69 per game) to rank second in the nation during that four-year period. Strausser also coached Broncos center Matt Paradis, who converted from a defensive lineman to become a second-team All-Mountain West Conference selection for Boise State in 2012 and 2013.
Chicago Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was recently named the head coach of the Broncos. Kugler is expected to change teams this off-season so it would not be a surprise if Strausser followed him.
Cleveland also interviewed Green Bay Packers offensive line coach/run game coordinator James Campen Saturday. Most teams employ multiple offensive line coaches so the interest in Strausser does not necessarily mean Campen will not join the Browns.
