Just in case Broncos Country didn’t dislike him enough, $100 million Raiders coach Jon Gruden cursed out a Denver wide receiver during Monday’s game.
The incident was captured by NFL Films, as Gruden was mic’d up for the Christmas Eve contest — potentially the final in Oakland for the Vegas-bound franchise. Following a spectacular one-handed grab near the Raiders’ sideline, backup Broncos WR Tim Patrick seemingly stared down the opposing coaches while boisterously celebrating.
“Shut the f–k up,” Gruden fired back.
Video went viral on Wednesday evening.

Patrick finished with 44 yards on three catches, his third-highest output of 2018. Gruden obviously got the last laugh, embarrassing his hated rival, 27-14, in an emotionally-charged upset. Oakland improved to 4-11 as their tank-job hit a minor snag, but dropping Denver to 6-9 — ensuring consecutive losing seasons for the first time since 1972 — was too sweet to grieve.
“I think our team played good football tonight and a lot of that is playing because of our fans,” Gruden said. “We came back against the Chiefs and made it a fourth quarter game and then came back and beat Pittsburgh. I thought we played pretty good tonight. Our fans really fueled us and sharing the victory with them for a few minutes is always really special.”
