In-depth breakdown of Broncos’ 2019 coaching staff under Fangio

After being hired as the Denver Broncos’ 17th head coach in franchise history, Vic Fangio wasted little time pursuing his ideal coaching staff. His first conversation was with Gary Kubiak, to see whether a match could be made.

Alas, Kubiak’s demands did not jive with Fangio’s vision, and so instead of hiring John Elway‘s top target, the 60-year-old first-time head coach chose to move on in search of what might have been his No. 1 offensive coordinator candidate.

Fangio has since hired his three coordinators, and he’s fleshed out his entire staff of coaching assistants. This collection of former players and veteran coaches will be tasked with implementing Fangio’s vision for the Broncos in 2019 and beyond.

Although many pro coaches are former players at some level, Fangio seemed to prioritize not only coaching experience, but also guys who’ve gone into live-bullet battle in the NFL.

There are a few coaching positions still up in the air, namely quarterbacks, while the Broncos are considering adding at least one more assistant position coach.
