Sean Kugler leaves Denver Broncos to join Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Denver Broncos blocked the Buffalo Bills from interviewing offensive line coach Sean Kugler while they were looking for a new head coach. Now that the Broncos have agreed to terms with Vic Fangio, they’re letting some of their coaches — including Kugler — join other teams.

Fangio will keep some of Denver’s current staff (like Gary Kubiak, who will become the offensive coordinator), but Kugler was allowed to leave. He has joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ staff, according to The Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud:

Technically, the Broncos still have an offensive line coach under contract.

Kugler was in charge of the team’s guards and centers and Chris Strausser was in charge of the team’s tackles. As of the time of this writing, Strausser is still employed in Denver.

It’s unclear if Strausser will become the lone offensive line coach now. The team may hire another positional guard/center coach like Kugler, or Fangio may bring in a new offensive line coach altogether.

Fangio’s staff should be assembled within the next few weeks.
