Who Ravens Fans Should Root for in Week 14

The Ravens (7-5) sit a game up on the competition for the final wild-card spot and are just behind the Steelers in the AFC North race.

But there are challengers still lurking. Ravens fans should be rooting for a couple division leaders in the early games, then some upsets in the late afternoon contests.

Here’s who Ravens fans should be rooting for in Week 14:

Indianapolis Colts (6-6) at Houston Texans (9-3)
Sunday, 1 p.m.
The Colts are still one of the Ravens’ biggest challengers for a wild-card spot, and coming off a 6-0 loss to the Jaguars. The Texans, meanwhile, are riding a nine-game winning streak. Houston can’t clinch a playoff spot, but can come mighty close by beating the Colts and do the Ravens a favor at the same time.
Root for: Texans

New England Patriots (9-3) at Miami Dolphins (6-6)
Sunday, 1 p.m.
The Patriots can clinch yet another AFC East crown by beating the Dolphins. New England is also looking to stay in position for a first-round bye. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are clinging to hopes of a wild-card berth. A knee injury to top Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard could open up New England’s passing attack.
Root for: Patriots

Cincinnati Bengals (5-7) at Los Angeles Chargers (9-3)
Sunday, 4:05 p.m.
It’s hard to imagine the Bengals getting back in the chase after losing six of their last seven games, quarterback Andy Dalton and now wide receiver A.J. Green. It’s also hard to see them beating the surging Chargers, but why not hope for an upset to keep that other wild-card spot up for grabs?
Root for: Bengals

Denver Broncos (6-6) at San Francisco 49ers (2-10)
Sunday, 4:05 p.m.
The Broncos are suddenly a very real playoff threat after reeling off three straight wins, including against the Chargers and Steelers. Their defense is playing well and they have a favorable schedule down the stretch. Baltimore needs them to take at least one more loss. The 49ers are tied for the worst record in the NFL and without top running back Matt Breida.
Root for: 49ers

Pittsburgh Steelers (7-4-1) vs. Oakland Raiders (2-10)
Sunday, 4:25 p.m.
This is another longshot, but it would be nice if the Raiders could pull off a shocker against the Steelers. Pittsburgh sits just ½ game up on Baltimore entering the weekend, making the AFC North title up for grabs. The Raiders put a scare into the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend in a 40-33 shootout loss. Perhaps Oakland’s offense can stay hot against the Steelers, who have to make the cross-country flight.
Root for: Raiders
